SoCap Token

An optional module that lowers the employer's cost of employment and raises the employee's net pay. You enable it yourself in the onboarding wizard, the rest of your configuration stays unchanged.

SoCap Token is an opt-in module, disabled by default. You enable it in the onboarding wizard; if you don't enable it, the app works exactly the same with no mention of the token at all.

What the token is, the legal definition

Stick to this wording

The token is an entitlement to purchase services at preferential prices. Never call it a "voucher" or a "coupon", those are different legal constructs with different tax and social-security consequences.

This definition is binding in all communication with the employee, in contracts, and in your materials. You'll find the full legal rationale and case law in the knowledge base: SoCap model.

Employer, a lower total cost of employment while keeping the employee's net pay the same.
Employee, a higher take-home amount with no change to working conditions.
Compliance, a model based on an entitlement to purchase services at preferential prices, not on a benefit in kind.

Relationship to the SoCap model

The token delivers the part of the salary described in the SoCap model as List 2, remaining income. The payroll engine splits the payout into the base list and List 2, and the token module handles that second part.

Before you run the token in production, review the SoCap model, it defines the split between List 1 and List 2.
